ATTENDING : Tom B, Nancy D, Russ C, John M and Al J.

Tom mentioned a great free app for your iPhone called Waze - a free app from the Apple App Store. Besides helping with GPS map directions, it also keeps you informed of near-by road hazards, disabled vehicles, accidents, construction and 'more' in real time with constant updates from other drivers on that road.

John installed the driver for a RocketFM on his MacBook Pro, plugged it into the USB port, and then proceeded to broadcast a clear FM radio signal to the transistor radio on our table streaming from internet music and programs found on the web. The RocketFM is a tiny plastic transmitting device, made by Griffin until 2006, can still be found on eBay for under $10. The newest driver (v 1.0.6) works with all Mac OS up to and including Sierra.

Tom demonstrated how easy it is to make a small portable Disk Image (.dmg) which can be made secure with an encypted password for carrying important data with you on a trip. Read the 'how to' steps here.

Preview - Apple's on-board app for looking at PDF files and opening images of all kinds - now it has 'Tools' which allow editing of PDF files, as well as standard images like PNG, JPG, TIFF and GIF. It is easy to change the size of an image, and to also alter its colors.

How to Permanently Delete a FaceBook Account - this may be very useful to people who have acted foolishly
